BASF plans to expand its product portfolio and launch four synthetic cosmetic peptides in 2021, in collaboration with Caregen, a global leading company in the field of biomimetic peptide synthesis. The synthetic peptides have anti-aging and anti-pigmentation properties, suitable for prone-atopic and prone-acneic skins.
Based on Caregen’s high-tech and commercially competitive functional peptides, as well as BASF’s expertise in solutions and ingredients in the global cosmetics market, this agreement can be a win-win for both companies over the long term.
Since there is robust growth in the Dermo cosmetics sector globally and especially in Asia, BASF aims to expand its product offerings and gain newer opportunities in the market with the expanded formulations made using new synthetic peptides as active ingredients.
Caregen’s highly effective synthetic peptides will become a complementary technology to the bioactive agents and other cosmetic solutions and ingredients provided by BASF’s personal care product portfolio.
