Ramagundam Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited (RFCL) in Telangana, India obtained approval from the central government to build a 1.27 MMt/year gas-based urea project.

The government earlier announced incentives for urea plants planned before 2019. However, the incentives were extended for this project as well.

RFCL is one of the largest fertilizer manufacturing companies in South India and is jointly owned by National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), Engineers India Limited (EIL), and Fertilizers Corporation of India Limited (FCIL).

Natural gas will be supplied to the gas-based, greenfield, neem-coated urea plant from GAIL (India) Limited through the MBBVPL pipeline.
