  • Tatneft and MOL to build tire recycling rubber bitumen plant at the TANECO complex

Tatneft and MOL group plans to launch a high-tech production facility with a capacity of 25,000 tons of rubber-modified bitumen (RBM). It will have the capacity to process up to 500,000 automotive tires per year for use in the construction of road surfaces. Of the venture, 51% stakes are held by the MOL group.

Driven by the strong potential for RBM, the companies plan to invest RUB 1.2 billion in the project. Rubber-modified bitumen (RBM) enables cost reduction in road maintenance, improves resistance to wheel tracking, lower cracks and pits formation, and reduced braking path length.

On July 7th, 2021, an official ceremony to commence the joint project implementation was initiated and the project is scheduled for completion in 2023.
