Dean Foods is one of the nation's largest milk bottlers and purveyors of dairy products. It is the largest processor and direct-to-store distributor of fresh fluid milk and other dairy and dairy case products in the United States. Dean Foods nourishes a strong and vibrant dairy industry.

The company operates its business through a single reporting segment. The company aligned its leadership team, operating strategy, and sales, logistics, and supply chain initiatives into a single operating and reportable segment.

Dean Foods Company offers a huge product portfolio that includes milk, milk-based beverages, ice cream, whipping cream, cottage cheese, yogurt, soy milk. It also makes and distributes pickles, juices, teas, and bottled water.

Lee®, Tuscan® and more.

The company also sells and distributes organic juice, probiotic-infused juices, and fruit-infused waters under Uncle Matt's Organic brand.

The company made a joint venture with Organic Valley Fresh which distributes organic milk under the Organic Valley® brand to retailers.

In May 2020, Dean Foods Company completed the sale of its Miami, Florida Facility to Mana Saves McArthur, LLC for $ 15.6 million.

In May 2020, Dean Foods completed the sale of its assets, rights, interests, and properties relating to the Company’s fluid and frozen facilities to subsidiaries of Dairy Farmers of America (“DFA”).

In April 2020, Dean Foods Completed the sale of its Uncle Matt’s Business and the majority of the Meadow Gold Hawaii Business to Harmony, Inc. It also completed the sale of its Hilo facility and related distribution branches on the Big Island, Kauai, and Maui, as well as a license to the Meadow Gold Hawaii brand name and related intellectual property to MGD Acquisition, LLC.

In April 2020, Dean Foods made an agreement with Industrial Realty Group, LLC for the Sale of Dean Foods’ Meadow Gold Hawaii Business.

In February 2020, Dean Foods entered Into an Asset Purchase Agreement with Dairy Farmers of America.

In March 2019, DairyPure® Serves Up Innovation in Cottage Cheese Category with Launch of DairyPure Mix-ins®. DairyPure with its DairyPure Mix-ins® line of cottage cheese launched four fruit flavors: Blueberry, Peach & Pecan, Pineapple, and Strawberry & Almond in 2018, and in 2019 expands the line to include Blackberries & Granola, as well as two new savory flavors: Creamy Jalapeño & Tortilla Strips and Sundried Tomato & Croutons.

In June 2018, Dean Foods completed the acquisition of Good Karma Foods, Inc. ("Good Karma") to sell and distribute flax-based beverages and yogurt products under the Good Karma® brand.

Dean Foods owns and operates a number of smaller regional dairy companies, including Friendly's, Berkeley Farms, and Garelick Farms.
